California RCRA Litigation Lawyers
At Campbell, Lauter & Murphy, Attorneys at Law, we handle environmental law related to many different state and federal laws and regulations. These include CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act), CEQA (California Environmental Quality Act), Clean Air Act and Proposition 65.
Our clients include corporations, business entities, developers and individuals who face a broad spectrum of environmental problems. They may face possible liability for EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) violations. These may include alleged pollution of hazardous waste sites, accidents, spills or other emergency releases of pollutants of contaminants into the environment. Others may seek legal counsel on standards set by the EPA, or on CERCLA, Superfund or RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act).
We have in-depth knowledge of the complex and rapidly-changing environmental regulations that affect our clients. Using this knowledge to protect our clients' interests, we have achieved a record of success.
A Foundation of Experience in Precedent-Setting Litigation
For over ten years, attorney William Koska served as lead defense counsel for American States Water Company in the successful defense of tort cases involving allegations by nearly 3,000 plaintiffs of ingestion of contaminated water. Following remand from the California Supreme Court in Hartwell v. Superior Court (February 2002), all cases were dismissed in favor of Mr. Koska's client on motion in Los Angeles and in Sacramento. On appeal the court rendered its landmark opinion on August 24, 2007, in In Re Groundwater Cases, affirming the dismissal of Mr. Koska's client. Mr. Koska's involvement in the Hartwell case and related litigation gave him the experience necessary to handle many of the complex issues related to CERCLA and RCRA litigation. He uses his in-depth knowledge to help clients achieve favorable outcomes in environmental litigation.
